I know this has been on the internet for awhile now and you have probably been one of the seventeen million hits this video has had on YouTube. But I wonder....what if community was like a pack of wild buffalo?

What is your blog rated?

I was reading Dan Kimball's Blog and saw that he had picked up on a blog rating system at mingle2.com. Basically you enter your URL and it will rate your blog. My blog is rated "G" and they pegged me for using the word kill (1x). And here I thought I was being way more inappropriate than I really am?!?! So, kids....Read up! It's ALL GOOD!

So naturally I wanted to see what kind of company I was keeping (or at least reading). So I entered some of the blogs I read to see what they are rated. Here is what I discoverd....(my guess is that after I post this I will go to a "R" rating with all these "bad words").

ALL THE "G" RATED BLOGS:

Mike Brantley who's out-on-a-limb was also rated "G" and used they called you out for using the word sluts (2x). You can say slut twice and still get a G rating!?!?

Nick Osborne had the same rating and used the same word as I did - "G" and kill (1x).  Great minds think alike.

Kyle Zehr was also rated "G" and mingle2 should be pegged for mispronouncing a name on Kyles blog.

Tom Cox was also rated "G" and was tagged for using the word torture (1x). What are you doing over there in Pittsburgh anyway?

Doug Ruhs was rated "G" for using the words hurt (2x) and dick (1x). I hope these words were not used in the same sentance.....

Carlos Whitaker at Ragamuffin Soul was rated "G" for using the word sexy (1x). I was surprised and not surprised about this rating. Surpised that he was not "R" and not surprised that he used the word sexy.

ALL THE "PG" RATED BLOGS:

Mark Driscoll was rated "PG" for using the word death (12x)! It's all that Death By Ministry talk he's been doing.

Jim Martin who is God Hungry was also rated "PG" for using the word death (4x) and kill (1x). You know what this means Nick?  All we have to do is type death 4 more times and children need to get permission to read our blogs!

ALL THE "R" RATED BLOGS:

And let's not forget Dan kimball who started this whole thing, he's rated "R." He is not suitable for kids under 17! He used used the word missionary (7x), death (5x), hell (3x), dead 2(x), and pain (1x).

What did I tell you!?!? After I posted this....I am now Rated "R" with the words death (5x), kill (4x), sexy (2x) and crack (1x).  Kids!?!? Kids!?!? Log off immediately!

Insomnia and The Vatican

I have been traveling this week up in Minneapolis, MN. The problem with traveling and staying in hotels is that I have a hard time sleeping. So....it's 1:30am on Thursday morning, I'm watching ESPN and surfing through my favorite blogs and news websites when I came across an unusual document . The Vatican on Tuesday issued a set of "ten commandments" for drivers. The document is is titled "Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road."

CNN.com says:

"The document, 'Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road,' extols the benefits of driving -- family outings, getting the sick to the hospital, allowing people to see other cultures.

It warned about the effects of road rage, saying driving can bring out "primitive" behavior in motorists, including "impoliteness, rude gestures, cursing, blasphemy, loss of sense of responsibility or deliberate infringement of the highway code."

The "Drivers' Ten Commandments," as listed by the document, are:

1. You shall not kill.

2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.

3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.

4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.

5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.

6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.

7. Support the families of accident victims.

8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.

9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.

10. Feel responsible toward others.

The Pope has obviously not driven in Chicago where you HAVE to randomly honk your horn when driving down town....talk about a Paradox!
