It's Just Tennis.....

I saw this on the tennis channel the other day. Don't ask me why I was watching this channel - I think my wife had it on. But I couldn't believe what I saw. I think this guy is a little too critical of himself. What do you think?

At Bat

O.K. Devin has struggled this season at bat. He has hit the ball - but has had more strike-outs then hits. Tonight was the second round of playoffs (If they win this game they advance to the final game). We were in extra innings (9 & 10 year old's play 6 innings in regulation). So the game is tied 1 to 1, it's the top of the 7th, there are two outs and a runner on 2nd and 3rd - Devin's up.

First pitch - ball one.....Second pitch - ball two.....Third pitch - strike one (looking).....Count - 2 and 1.....Fourth pitch - CRACK!!!

Devin hits a line drive between the first and second baseman. BASE HIT! BOTH runners score. We go AHEAD 3 TO 1. Then we hold them at the bottom of the 7th. Three up - three down (one strike out, two ground outs). We win because of Devin's hit!  As you can imagine, Brenda and I were going nuts! Devin was, and still is, grinning ear to ear and cannot stop talking about it!! The kid is soooo pumped right now. His coach did a very cool thing and gave him the game ball! It has been an AWESOME CELEBRATION!!

As I like to call it.....Crotch Salad!!!

Bear Down!

As most of you know, I am from Seattle, Washington and I was born and raised on the Seahawks, Mariners, Sonics and Starbucks coffee in my bottle.  But since moving to Chicago I have developed new friends that like this other NFC Champion team here called the Chicago Bears.  So this post is for you friends here in Chi-Town.......ENJOY!!

Seahawks

There are several things that are difficult in my life.  One is living in Chicago and being a Seahawk's Fan!!  I like the Bears.  After living here for almost 2 years, they are quickly becoming my second favorite team in the NFL.  If I can only keep the quarterback's name straight, is it Griesman or Grosse???

Anyways, 2 days until Seattle is tested to see if they have what it takes to get back to the Super Bowl.  In my opinion this will be only the 3rd most challenging game they have had all year.  Let's hope they can stay healthy.....I believe if, WHEN they make it pass the Cowboys this Saturday, they will be here in CHI-Town next week to take on the Bears.  At least Seattle only has to play slightly better than the last time they were here, or at least as good as the Packers did on New Year's Eve.  Ouch!!
